Blowhard Pale Award February 2006 Bright Brewery's Blowhard Pale took out the People's Choice Award for Best Pale Ale at Federation Square's Victorian Microbreweries Showcase, February 2006. It was a great event, with 16 of Victoria's best microbreweries providing refreshment to 1200 people over 2 evenings. The Hellfire also stacked up well and we had lots of interest in it at the stand. We love our beers but it's nice to get feedback now and then that others don't mind them too! Brewery Arrival November 2005 After a minor delay in customs due to recent freight backlogs, our brewery has finally arrived in Bright! Two semi-trailers manoeuvred the road works in Bright, a crane and forklift carefully unloaded it into our temporary premises, and the brewery team celebrated with a bottle of bubbly. Plenty of work still to be done with the Brasso rag on the brewhouse, and scratching of heads over what connects where using Japanese instructions! Good thing we have Julia to interpret them for us. Release the Blowhard October 2005 The next Bright Brewery beer is now out there, quenching thirsts and bringing smiles to faces. The Blowhard Pale is an American style pale ale with refreshing citrus aromas and a crisp Cascade hop character. Match this one up with spicy dishes, or with fish (including fish and chips). Brewphoria September 2005 We are stoked to be the recipients of Federal Government funding in the new Food Processing in Regional Australia Program. With the grant we have bought some BEAUTIFUL brewing equipment - bigger and better than we would have bought without the extra funds. The grant program aims to support food and beverage production in regional areas, rather than having all the raw inputs trucked to capital cities for processing. Bright Brewery's application was backed by a ground swell of local support - huge thanks to all the organisations and individuals who wrote letters on our behalf. Our brewery equipment is currently somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, being shipped to Australia from Japan. The system is a German engineered copper clad 12hL Biering Brewhouse with plenty of fermenters, unitanks, and other goodies. We are muttering prayers to the Beer Gods for its arrival safe and with no dings. |
